Terms of Service

Effective 28 July 2026.

Good Neighbor is a free app for asking neighbors for a hand and lending one back. By creating an account you agree to these terms.

Who can use Good Neighbor

You need to be at least 13 years old. You are responsible for what happens under your account, so keep your sign-in details to yourself.

What Good Neighbor is, and is not

Good Neighbor helps neighbors find each other. It is not an employment service, a contractor marketplace, or a payment platform. No money changes hands in the app. Points and badges are a record of participation — they are not currency, they have no cash value, and they cannot be transferred or redeemed.

When you agree to help a neighbor, or accept help, that arrangement is between the two of you. We are not a party to it and we do not supervise it.

Community rules

We have a zero-tolerance policy for objectionable content and abusive users. There is no warning system for this and no three-strikes rule. Content that breaks these rules is removed, and accounts that post it are suspended or terminated.

Do not post, send or share:

Reporting and blocking are built into every piece of content in the app, not hidden away in settings:

If you see something that breaks these rules, report it in the app. If it is urgent or you cannot reach the content, email support@thegoodneighbor.community. If someone is in danger, contact your local emergency services first.

Your content

What you post stays yours. You give us permission to store it and show it to the neighbors it is meant for, so that the app can function. That permission ends when you delete the content or your account, except where we are required to keep something by law.

Do not post content you do not have the right to post.

Your safety is your own judgement

We do not run background checks on neighbors, and we do not verify that anyone is who they say they are or that they can do what they say they can do. A recommendation in the Pros directory reflects the opinions of neighbors who vouched for that business — it is not our endorsement, and we have not vetted them. Use your judgement about who you let into your home and what you agree to.

Ending your account

You can delete your account at any time from Profile → Delete Account. We may suspend or terminate an account that breaks these terms, and for serious violations we will do so without notice.

Disclaimers and liability

Good Neighbor is provided "as is". We do not promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for disputes, injuries or damages arising out of arrangements neighbors make with each other through the app.

Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

Changes to these terms

If we change these terms materially, we will update the effective date above and tell you in the app. Continuing to use Good Neighbor after that means you accept the change.
